A delicious lunch will be served during the day, allowing you time to relax before continuing your wildlife exploration. This memorable experience provides the perfect introduction to your Tanzanian safari adventure.
Tarangire National Park is almost 3000 sq km in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. The name of the park comes from the Tarangire River which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June - November) as wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti (since enormous populations of elephants and other animals are drawn to the Tarangire River as their only source of water). With its varied habitats and permanent water in the Tarangire River the park is home to over 2000 elephants and 500 bird species.

Descend 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive. Often described as one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders, the crater features open grasslands, acacia woodlands, freshwater lakes and swamps that support an exceptional concentration of wildlife. Look out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, hippos, hyenas, abundant birdlife and the endangered black rhinoceros.
After exploring the crater, continue through spectacular scenery to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive across its wildlife-rich plains, followed by a beautiful African sunset.
Covering approximately 14,763 square kilometres, the Serengeti is one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries and the setting for the remarkable Great Migration. Its name comes from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning “endless plains.”

Venture deep into this world-renowned wilderness, where you'll explore its vast landscapes in search of abundant wildlife, including the Big Five and countless other iconic African species, while experiencing one of the finest safari destinations on Earth.
The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing in Central Serengeti is at its best during the dry season (June - November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard.
