After breakfast, set out for a memorable morning game drive across the wildlife-rich plains of Central Serengeti, a time when predators are most active and wildlife sightings are often at their finest. Guided by our expert safari professionals, you will explore some of the park's most productive areas, maximizing your chances of encountering lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and a wide variety of other iconic African wildlife. Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic site within the park, surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes and untamed beauty of the Serengeti. This is a wonderful opportunity to relax, take in the atmosphere, and reflect on the morning's wildlife encounters. After lunch, continue with game viewing as you make your way towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the charming Ngorongoro Farm House in the late afternoon, nestled among rolling coffee plantations and lush gardens. Enjoy time to unwind before a delightful dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, preparing for your unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater adventure the following day. There are several documented resident lion prides just within a one-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River. Following breakfast today, prepare for a breathtaking journey as we descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an immersive game drive, revealing its abundant wildlife Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. The name "Ngorongoro" is believed to have originated from the Maasai pastoralists. It is onomatopoeic, derived from the "ngor ngor" sound made by the cowbells of their livestock. Some sources also connect it to the Maasai phrase "orgirra le korongorro," meaning "Big Bowl," which aptly describes the crater's shape. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest. As the day gracefully draws to a close, you'll be comfortably drive to Arusha for drop off, or proceed directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your connecting flight home."
